Why are you initiating the project and what do you expect from participation? What do you want to achieve? Having a clear goal in mind is the basis and guideline of every good project. The implementation of online participation itself cannot be the goal. It is a method that can lead to better results and greater acceptance. The project goal must therefore be based on the subject of discussion:

• Does the participation improve the level of information of the decision makers?
• Does it promote the identification of those concerned with the topic/project?
• Can participation be expected to lead to greater acceptance for the subsequent decision?
